Businessman arrested for smuggling

Police in Ntcheu district have arrested James Yasin, a 45-year-old businessman, for allegedly smuggling goods into Malawi.

Yasin was caught at Tsangano roadblock with assorted groceries, including cooking oil, drinks, and foodstuffs, without valid import documents.

The haul includes:- 50 x 20-litre buckets of cooking oil- 100 crates of frozy drinks- 5 crates of Tamutamu drinks- 5 bags of wheat flour- Spaghetti- Right Choice beer- Nyasa gin.

Yasin, from Eneya Village, Ntcheu, will face court soon.
