59 year old man arrested over sex with 3 year old girl
The Malawi Police Service has arrested a 59-year-old man named Hassan Dakilo for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a 3-year-old girl in Monkebay, Mangochi district.
As stated by Kondwani James, the spokesperson for the Monkey Bay Police, the child was left unattended by her mother, who had gone to participate in a village bank meeting.
“Exploiting the situation, Dakilo, who resides in the vicinity, pulled the young girl into a nearby bush where he committed the crime,” James explained.
He further mentioned that the suspect was apprehended in the act by the victim’s father, who subsequently reported the incident to the police.
The suspect is a resident of Chilombo Village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Traditional Authority Namkumba in Monkey Bay.
