Man kills own wife in Thyolo

Police in Thyolo have taken into custody 39-year-old man identified as Victor Matebule on for allegedly killing his wife with Maria Matias, following an accusation that the woman had a secret boyfriend.

According to Blessing Keith Rabson, the deputy spokesperson for Thyolo Police, the incident occurred after Matebule accused his wife of engaging in an extramarital relationship.

Rabson reported that during the confrontation, Matias allegedly inflicted injuries to Matebule’s private parts, which led him to retaliate by striking her with a wooden hoe handle.

Matias was declared dead upon arrival at Thyolo District Hospital, where a postmortem examination revealed that she succumbed to severe head trauma.

Matebule is currently hospitalized under police supervision and is anticipated to face court proceedings once he is discharged.
