Man arrested for possessing drugs
Gidson Gogoda, a 47-year-old resident of Saiti Village within the Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu District, is currently in the custody of Ntcheu Police for allegedly possessing various medical drugs without the necessary license.
According to Constable Beatrice Mlauzi, the Deputy Spokesperson for Ntcheu Police, Gogoda was apprehended yesterday at Sharp Valley Trading Centre after concerned citizens alerted the police about his illegal sale of medical drugs at the location.
A subsequent police search revealed a range of medical drugs, including 300 adult caplets of Cotrimoxazole, 150 children’s tablets of Cotrimoxazole, 204 LA tablets, 250 Lofnac tablets, 426 Buffen tablets, 430 Fragyl tablets, and 148 Indocid capsules, among others.
Mlauzi further stated that the suspect is expected to appear in court shortly to face charges related to the illegal possession of medical drugs.
