Police recover stolen vehicle

Police in Dowa District have seized a brand new Nissan Navara vehicle believed to be stolen.

According to police, they received information from concerned citizens about a man in Nyemba village, located in the area of Traditional Authority Msakambewa, who was allegedly harboring a suspicious vehicle at his home.

Dowa police spokesperson, Alice Sitima, stated that upon receiving the tip-off, officers quickly proceeded to the location, where they discovered the vehicle parked on the property.

Interrogations revealed that the vehicle had been brought in by the custodian’s son, Blessings Mbalangwe, who lives in South Africa.

The suspect is currently evading capture.

The vehicle has been confiscated and transferred to the Anti-Motor Vehicle Branch for further investigation, while efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect are ongoing.
