90 Malawians caught in one bus in South Africa
Police in South Africas Limpopo have intercepted a suspected overloaded bus with 90 instead of 70 people travelling from Malawi to Johannesburg on the N1 earlier today.
The bus is certified to carry 70 passengers but was found to be carrying 90 passengers. The passenger list found on board recorded only 25 passengers.SAPS and Immigration Services have been called to the scene and are attending to the matter. This is a developing story and further details will be released as they become available.Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety says all operators that are overloading put lives at risk and is a direct violation of road safety laws. Law enforcement will continue to act decisively against such practices.
