60 year old dies in terrible accident

A 60-year-old man named Born Mswero has died, and another person has sustained severe injuries due to a road accident at Kafola Trading Centre along the Chitipa-Mbilima earth road in Chitipa.

Rabson Mkandawire, the Chitipa Police Public Relations Officer, reported that the incident took place today at approximately 1:37 AM. A Toyota Sienta car traveling from Chitipa towards Mbilima collided with a T-Better motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

Mkandawire detailed that as a result of the collision, the motorcycle rider suffered a severe open fracture of the thigh bone and was declared dead upon arrival at Chitipa District Hospital. Meanwhile, the pillion passenger has been hospitalized with serious injuries.

He further noted that the car driver fled the scene, prompting police to initiate an investigation to locate him.
