BREAKING: Police summon Winnie

Winnie Nyondo was summoned today to the Area 30 Police Headquarters in Lilongwe, as confirmed by her attorney, Nkhwima Mchizi.

Mchizi explained that the complaint originated from Parliament, prompting the police to secure a search warrant related to a social media post purportedly associated with Nyondo.

He noted that the complaint was based on claims that Nyondo had made the post on June 10, 2024.

However, following a search conducted in the presence of Nyondo and her lawyer, the police reportedly determined that the post was actually made on June 13, 2024.

Mchizi pointed out that this finding contradicted the date mentioned during last week’s Ad hoc inquiry, adding that Nyondo has since been exonerated and no arrests have occurred.

When reached for comment, National Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya stated, “This is well received. I shall revert to you in due course.”
