Man arrested for house fire that killed four family members

Police in Monkey Bay have arrested 39-year-old Jailos Jambo on charges of criminal recklessness and negligence after a house fire resulted in the deaths of his four family members.

Kondwani James, spokesperson for the Monkey Bay Police Station, reported that in April of this year, Jambo stored jerrycans filled with petrol at his home and subsequently instructed his child to carry one of them.

Unfortunately, the child lost their footing and fell, leading to the petrol spilling onto a lit charcoal burner, which ignited a fire that quickly consumed the entire house.

James stated that Jambo has already appeared in court, and his case has been referred to the High Court for further legal action.
