Child killed by own parents car

In Kasungu, a one-year and 11-month-old Mirabell Banda has died after being accidentally struck by her father’s vehicle in the Bua 3 residential area.

As reported by Miracle Hauli, the deputy public relations officer for Kasungu Police, the incident took place when the child’s parents were getting into their vehicle outside their home.

Unbeknownst to the father, the toddler was underneath the vehicle as he drove away, leading to the unfortunate accident.

The child suffered critical head injuries and was immediately taken to Bua Health Centre, where she was declared dead upon arrival.

In light of this tragedy, the police have urged the community to closely supervise children, emphasizing that such measures can help avert similar incidents.

Mirabell Banda was from Zembeni Village, located in the Traditional Authority of Santhe within the district.
