Minibus conductor arrested for possessing medical drugs
Police in Dowa District have arrested a minibus conductor, Gerald Chigona, after he was found in possession of illegal medical drugs.
Police spokesperson in the district, Alice Sitima, said officers on the Mvera road stopped the vehicle in which Chigona was travelling, which was travelling from Nkhotakota district to Lilongwe city.
According to Sitima, there was a bag in the vehicle and when the driver was asked what was inside, he said it contained dried fish that someone had given him.
However, when the officers checked inside, they found that it contained medical drugs, which led to his arrest.
