Over 41 thousand Malawians return from Malawi
The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) says over 41,900 individuals have been repatriated from South Africa.
This group includes 12,000 women, with 400 of them being pregnant, 29,000 men, and 2,000 children.
The government has stated that it does not know how many undocumented Malawians in South Africa are still waiting for repatriation.
Additionally, Malawians who have sought refuge in Zimbabwe and Mozambique are also being repatriated as part of this ongoing initiative.
DoDMA Commissioner Wilson Moleni mentioned that the repatriation process is ongoing as the government strives to bring back Malawians stranded in neighboring countries.
