Eight die in Dedza terrible accident
Authorities in Dedza have confirmed that eight people have died in a road accident in the district.
Dedza Police spokesperson Beatrice Jefita says that the incident occurred when a truck tried to overtake a van and collided head-on with an approaching minibus.
Jefita mentioned that several others suffered various injuries and are currently receiving care at Dedza District Hospital.
The police have stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
In the meantime, initial reports suggest that the minibus was en route from Monkey Bay in Mangochi District to Lilongwe at the time of the incident.
