Police probing murder of a 73 year old man in Nsanje

Police in Nsanje have initiated an investigation into the violent murder of 73-year-old Fred Jailosi from Kamanga Village, under Traditional Authority Tengani in the district.

Jabulani Ng’oma, the Nsanje Police Publicist, reported that Emmanuel Jailosi, the victim’s son, discovered his father lying on the ground with a severe neck injury and significant blood loss yesterday.

He mentioned that Emmanuel called for help from neighbors and tried to take the elderly man to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries en route, prompting them to return home and inform village headman Kamanga.

Ng’oma also stated that officers from the Chiromo police post and medical personnel later arrived at the scene, where they noted a deep laceration on the neck, suggesting the victim had been assaulted with a sharp instrument.

As per Ng’oma, the postmortem examination revealed that Jailosi’s death was due to excessive bleeding resulting from the deep cut on his neck.
