Mutharika on fourth private trip to South Africa

President Peter Mutharika has for the fourth time left the country this afternoon for a private visit to South Africa.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) the President will depart through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.

However, the OPC did not disclose the purpose of the visit or indicate how long he is expected to stay in South Africa.

Meanwhile, this will be President Mutharika’s third private trip to South Africa this year.

He previously travelled to the country on June 12, 2026, for another private visit.
