Man arrested for attacking kabaza operator

Police in Lilongwe have arrested Bryan Jere for allegedly injuring a motorcycle taxi operator and stealing his motorcycle in Area 9.

According to Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer Hastings Chigalu, the incident occurred at night after the rider had dropped off a passenger in the area.

As he was returning, he was confronted by two suspected robbers.

Despite being stabbed in the ribs, the rider managed to overpower and apprehend one of the suspects until members of the public arrived to assist.

During the struggle, the second suspect escaped with the stolen motorcycle.

Police later recovered the motorcycle from a house in Area 36, Lilongwe.

However, the owner of the house, who is also suspected of helping to conceal the stolen motorcycle, is currently on the run.
