Malawi Govt completes repatriation of people from South Africa

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) has issued a reminder to Malawians residing in South Africa that the government-supported repatriation initiative will conclude on 12 August 2026.

DoDMA has stated that the final buses will depart from the Malawi Embassy located in Johannesburg and Pretoria at 12 noon on that day.

Malawians who choose to stay in South Africa after the conclusion of the exercise are encouraged to arrange their own travel back to Malawi.

DoDMA emphasizes that this reminder is intended to ensure that Malawians planning to return take advantage of the last available buses.
