Inagwa bwanji?: Chikangawa plane crash probe to continue

The Parliamentary Ad-Hoc Committee that is investigating the Chikangawa plane crash has commenced the analysis of evidence gathered during the initial phase of witness hearings.

This review aims to pinpoint significant issues that have arisen from the testimonies and to prepare for the upcoming hearings set to take place from August 24 to September 4, 2026.

Chairperson Walter Nyamilandu Manda stated that the first phase has produced considerable evidence, which will serve as the foundation for the committee’s ongoing investigation and subsequent conclusions.

Manda emphasized that the committee is dedicated to carrying out a transparent and unbiased inquiry that can establish facts, identify lessons learned, and provide answers to the families of the victims and the nation.

The evidence review will continue on Thursday, while the second phase of witness hearings will occur simultaneously with the forensic pathology work being conducted by independent South African pathologists Dr. Robert Gabriel Ngude and Dr. Wilson Sibusiso Ntsele.
