Mzuzu Prison shines in MSCE results

All inmates at Mzuzu Prison who sat for this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations have passed, with the institution recording the best overall performance among prisons.

According to a statement released, one inmate at Mzuzu Prison scored 14 points, while the best-performing candidate at Mzimba Prison scored 16 points.

Malawi Prison Service (MPS) public relations officer,Steve Meke attributed the performance to the interest shown by the prison service and other organisations in using education to rehabilitate and transform inmates.

Meanwhile, Centre for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance (CHREAA) executive director Victor Mhango has commended MPS for supporting inmates who have an interest in education.
