Gandhi Forum sends peace agenda through sports
The Gandhi Forum has described its Football Tournament for Peace as a significant initiative aimed at promoting harmony, unity and community cohesion.

The Forum’s Executive Director, Professor Nandini Patel, made the remarks at the end of the tournament, which was held at the Kuhes Sports Complex in Blantyre and featured four community-based football teams.
The tournament was organized in partnership with the Institute for Policy Interaction (IPI) as part of activities commemorating Mahatma Gandhi, the renowned global advocate for peace whose birthday is observed on October 2.

Speaking on behalf of the tournament sponsor, Pooja Hardware Suppliers, Reema Rakhan said the company was proud to support the event, noting that football is a unifying force that promotes healthy competition in a peaceful environment — principles that Gandhi championed throughout his life.

At the end, Admarc Socials emerged as champions after defeating Chilumba on penalties.
Mapanga FC finished third, while Kontek FC came fourth.
The Forum also held a webinar on non-violent communication earlier this month, with another session scheduled for October 30.
