Mob kills six people in Ntcheu
Six people have been killed through mob justice in Ntcheu District between January and October this year, with police recording 28 related cases during the period.
According to Ntcheu Police Officer in Charge, Modester Jussa, the deaths were a result of people’s failure to resolve disputes through dialogue, with some opting to take the law into their own hands.
Jussa has also raised concern over suicide cases towards the end of the year, saying some people resort to taking their own lives to escape debts, particularly bank loans.
She has since urged people facing challenges to seek advice and counselling from friends, police officers and religious leaders to help reduce suicide cases in the district.
