Police probing murder of a teenager in Thyolo
Authorities in Thyolo are probing the suspected murder of 19-year-old motorcyclist Amon Mukhula, whose remains were discovered near Goliati Trading Centre between April 27 and 28.
Thyolo Police deputy public relations officer Blessing Rabson stated that the police are seeking public assistance to identify the individuals responsible.
“We are urging the public to share any information that could aid us in locating the offenders and ensuring they face justice,” Rabson remarked.
As per police reports, Mukhula, a resident of Kamoto Village, was hired by an unknown passenger from a local kabaza rank on the evening of April 27. He was allegedly directed towards the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) area but failed to return home.
His body was subsequently found the next morning with head injuries, and his red 49-10 Lifan motorcycle is currently missing.
Authorities indicate that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident and to recover the stolen motorcycle.
