The Human Rights Defenders Coalition has urged the police to initiate investigations and apprehend a murder suspect, Ali Kaka Chinemba, who reportedly fled the country in 2015.

HRDC Chairperson Michael Kaiyatsa emphasizes that, in light of the right to life, the police must ensure the fugitive is brought back to face justice in the country.

Now, 11 years later, Kaiyatsa insists that the police must take action to ensure Chinemba is held accountable.

This comes after a video clip surfaced, allegedly showing Chinemba in South Africa, where he appears to be defending himself against xenophobic attacks.

Security expert Aubrey Kabisala points out that capturing a fugitive outside the country is a complicated process, highlighting that it would necessitate collaboration with authorities in the respective nation or with Interpol.
