Nine more people arrested in missing private parts drama
Police have taken into custody nine additional individuals for allegedly disseminating false information that could instill fear and alarm within the Lower Shire districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje.
These arrests stem from reports made on by the accused, who asserted that their private parts had vanished after interacting with others.
There are persistent myths and allegations regarding magical activities circulating in the area.In this case, the Police directed the complainants to Nsanje District Hospital for a medical evaluation, which verified that all their private parts were intact and no abnormalities were detected.
Nevertheless, these unfounded claims are inciting panic among residents of Nsanje and Chikwawa districts.
The individuals arrested include: Boniface Beka, Clement Kaduya (39), Precious Kaduya (39), Shadrick Sande (20), Chisomo Eliasi (18), Jeremiah Esaya (20), Edward Fatsani (20), Nelson Andiseni (18), and Beatrice Geofry (42), all hailing from Nsanje district.
With these arrests, the total number of individuals apprehended for similar offenses has risen to fourteen, following the earlier detention of five suspects.
They are anticipated to appear in court shortly.
