Suspected murderers ARRESTED!

Police in Blantyre have apprehended two individuals linked to the murder of 76-year-old William Chisambi, who was brutally killed at Soche Hill while he was there for prayers.

The suspects have been identified as Martin Brighton, 41, from Chikumba village, and Jackson Mahomba, 31, from Kuweluza village, both of whom fall under the traditional authority of Changata in Thyolo district.

According to the gathered information, the late Chisambi had constructed an altar for the Will of God Ministries at Soche Hill, where he frequently visited for prayers and to tend to the flowers he had planted at the altar.

Chisambi left his home as usual, taking a bucket with him to fetch water.

As time passed without his return, his family grew concerned and initiated a search on the hill, where they discovered only a pair of his sandals and a bucket near the altar.

The situation was reported to the Soche police, who conducted a further search and ultimately located the deceased’s body some distance from the altar, showing multiple wounds on his legs.

The body was subsequently transported to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, where it was confirmed that he died from blood loss.

Police investigations resulted in the arrest of the two suspects, who are also believed to be involved in several robbery incidents.

In the meantime, the Soche police have reassured the public and residents in the vicinity of Soche Hill regarding their safety, stating that various measures have been implemented to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
