Man carrying the cross across the world arrives in Malawi

A 55-year-old South African minister of God, Reinhold Coetzee, has arrived in Malawi County on his cross-carrying journey, having started from Cape Town, South Africa.

According to Coetzee, the journey will end in Jerusalem, Israel.

Just as Jesus did when he entered Jerusalem, Coetzee was welcomed by various churches under the Evangelical Association of Malawi at the Bua Gate, which is on the border of Kasungu and Dowa.

The journey, which is being carried out as part of his faith and doing God’s will, began in March 2025 and he entered the country through the Dedza Gate, holding a prayer service at each stop.

This is not the first time the minister has been seen carrying the cross, having previously walked from East London to Jefferys Bay, South Africa, in 2018.

And in 2020, he left Cape Town to Musina, and in 2023, he made another long journey from Cape Town to Namibia.
