Former Malawi Speaker Chimunthu involved in an accident
Last night, former Speaker of Parliament Henry Chimunthu Banda was involved in a road accident close to the Dedza roadblock in the Dedza district.
The vehicle he was using reportedly collided with another car.
Mwai Liabunya, spokesperson for the Dedza District Health Office, confirmed the occurrence, stating that Chimunthu Banda, who suffered injuries from the accident.
He was first treated at Dedza District Hospital before being transferred to Kamuzu Central Hospital for additional medical care.
The former Speaker is currently reported to be in stable condition.
