Investigating Chilima’s death finally starts

The parliamentary committee that is looking into the plane crash which resulted in the deaths of former Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight others has completed its examination of Kamuzu International Airport.

In the meantime, officials at Kamuzu Airport have informed the committee that they have retained all records pertaining to the aircraft that transported Chilima and the other eight individuals on June 10, 2024.

They also mentioned that they still possess documentation such as weather reports and other significant data.

Wezi Gondwe Lawrence, the spokesperson for Airport Developments Limited (ADL), stated that ADL has supplied all the information requested by the committee.

Walter Nyamilandu Manda, the chairperson of the committee, indicated that the committee will continue to visit various sites.

He emphasized that they aim for Malawians to be content with the results of the investigations.

To accomplish this, they will collaborate with a range of experts, including police, military personnel, and others, to collect sufficient information.
