Karma: Snake kills witch doctor

A witch doctor has died after being bitten by a snake he used in his magic rituals in Machinga district.

According to the Western Kansire police, the man is Steve Moyenda, 46, and the incident occurred in Mbanira area of Machinga district.

Kansire said the witch doctor took out his snake he used in magic rituals and showed it to another witch doctor who also practices the same trade, but the deceased soon told the friend that his snake had bitten him on the left finger.

Here, the other witch doctor is said to have taken his medicine and applied it to the bite wound but it did not work and he decided to go to Ntholowa hospital in the same district where he died before receiving treatment.

The results of the hospital confirmed that the witch doctor died from snake venom.
