Over nine thousand seeking students loans
The Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board has announced that it has received more than 9,000 applications from university students seeking student loans in the second week of the application period.
Millie Kasunda, the institution’s spokesperson, has encouraged additional students to submit their applications, highlighting that there are just over two weeks left before the application deadline on June 24.
Kasunda mentioned that the board expects to receive an increased number of applications this year, aiming to reach a total of 38,000 beneficiaries.
She also urged both newly admitted students and those who have previously received loans to reapply to be eligible for the upcoming 2026/27 loan disbursement period.
