Men fined for missing manhood stories
The Nsanje Second Grade Magistrate Court has found seven people guilty of disseminating false information likely to incite panic regarding purported manhood disappearances and ordered them to pay fines ranging from K400,000 to K600,000.
During the sentencing, Second Grade Magistrate Haneef Ngundende stated that the defendants alleged their genitals had been taken in various locations without any corroborating medical proof.
Ngundende instructed Clement Thede and Bonface Beka to each pay K600,000, or alternatively, face 2 years in prison.
Shadrick Sande was fined K500,000, with a 1 year and 6 months prison term in default.
Additionally, the court directed Owen Chandendema, Yotamu Ephraim, Jeremiah Yesaya, and Nelson Andiseni to pay K400,000 each, or serve 1 year and 6 months in prison if they fail to pay.
