Joyce Banda awarded African accolade

Former Malawi President Joyce Banda has been honored with an African Champions award by the Asia-Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) – Chapter during this year’s Africa Walk held in Abeokuta, Nigeria.

The former leader of Malawi received this accolade at the closing ceremony of the week-long Africa Walk, following an invitation from Platform Capital in partnership with the AACCI.

The AACCI Asia Chapter awarded her for what they termed as “her visionary statesmanship, steadfast commitment to African advancement, and the inspiring legacy of leadership she has fostered across the continent and beyond.”

“Africa progresses when we unite in our efforts. This event serves as a reminder that trade and our future are intertwined. I am truly honored by this recognition and the warm hospitality extended by the people of Nigeria, “she said.

The event was attended by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, the King of Olu State, former First Ladies, senior government officials, civil society members, and prominent business figures.
