Speaker wants probe into Napoleon Dzombe fertilizer company fiasco
Speaker of Parliament Sameer Suleiman has appointed a special parliamentary committee to investigate the challenges businessman Napoleon Dzombe is facing in establishing a fertilizer manufacturing company in Dowa District.
The matter was first raised in Parliament by Lilongwe Likuni Member of Parliament Kelvin Mphande, who expressed concern over procedures and other challenges that are delaying the establishment of the fertilizer manufacturing plant.
The committee comprises Ackim Kumwenda, Francis Kasaila, Felix Njawala, Nancy Tembo, Aisha Adams, Catherine Gotani Hara, Abdul Karim, Khadija Leah Chunga and other members of Parliament.
According to Suleiman, the committee is expected to begin its work on Wednesday, 15 July, as it looks into the obstacles affecting the proposed fertilizer manufacturing project in Dowa.
Meanwhile, the committe has been constituted to examine the issue and report back to the parliament with it’s findings and recommendations
