Fertility: 300 women return pregnant from South Africa

The health office in Blantyre has reported that it has assisted 300 pregnant women who fled from South Africa due to the violence inflicted on migrants by local citizens.

Dr. Stanley Mwaluwanda, the health officer at the Blantyre camp, stated that they will also provide care for other patients who have suffered gunshot wounds and stab injuries.

Dr. Mwaluwanda mentioned that one woman, who arrived in poor health, tragically lost her three-month-old baby and has been referred to a mental health facility in Zomba.

He noted that the total number of patients receiving assistance from South Africa has reached 1,810 since the government began accepting victims of violence from the country.
