Zinyero found dead!

A 48-year-old woman named Mary Zinyero has been found dead ,a day after going missing in Dowa District.

According to Alice Sitima, Public Relations Officer at Dowa Police Station, Zinyero’s body was located hanging from a tree in Dowa Hills.

Zinyero was last seen on Friday, June 26, when she went to Dowa Hills with three friends to gather firewood.

Her nephew, Jickson Leston, informed the police that around 4:00 p.m., as the group was getting ready to head back home, Zinyero requested her friends to wait while she gathered additional firewood.Unfortunately, she did not return.

Family members and community residents initiated a search but were unable to locate her until Monday, when her body was found hanging in the forest.

Police and medical personnel arrived at the scene, where a postmortem examination revealed that she had died from suffocation caused by strangulation.
