Fire causes havoc in Chitipa
A fire has razed down a girls’ hostel at Chisenga Community Day Secondary School in Chitipa while students were taking their Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations today.
The headteacher, Edward Kaonga, along with Councillor Nicholas Silungwe from Chisenga Ward in Chitipa Chendo Constituency, have both verified the occurrence, stating that evaluations are currently in progress to assess the level of damage.
The origin of the fire remains unclear, and there have been no reported injuries as students were in examination rooms when the fire erupted at the hostel.
