Doctor killed in Blantyre

A 28-year-old doctor, Dr Atughanile Chomo, who worked at Queens Hospital in Blantyre, has been found dead today at his home.


The Director General of Queens Hospital, Professor Patrick Kamalo, confirmed the news saying he was shocked by the death, and said the doctor had been working since January this year and was trustworthy.


Kamalo said the doctor was found with a rope tied around his neck, hands and feet.


The police spokesperson in the Southern Region, Beatrice Mikuwa, said the doctor was found dead at his home in Mount Pleasant, and investigations are underway to find out who did this.
