Holy whip: CCAP Pastors dismissed

The Blantyre Synod of the CCAP Church, through its General Administrative Committee, has dismissed two of its reverends after finding them guilty of misconduct, including disobedience and failure to observe church procedures.

The pastors are Reverend Duncan Kananji and Reverend Wilson Kazembe, who both serve in South Africa.

Rev. Kananji was dismissed in January this year, while Rev. Kazembe was removed from his position last Friday.

According to a dismissal letter issued to Rev. Kananji, he was found guilty on three counts, including taking the Synod to court without first following the church’s established grievance procedures, disobedience, and using the Synod’s name without authorization.

Blantyre Synod General Secretary Reverend Anderson Juma has confirmed the dismissals.

However, the two have accused Rev. Juma of framing the disciplinary action against them, alleging that he has held a longstanding personal grudge against them.
