Mutharika delegates Chihana to South Africa

President Peter Mutharika has delegated Second Vice-President Enoch Chihana to stand in for him at the 46th Ordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) Heads of State and Government Summit in South Africa.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation George Chaponda confirmed that Chihana will represent the President at the summit scheduled for August 17 in Durban, South Africa, when he spoke to the Nation Publications.

This will mark Chihana’s third regional engagement on behalf of the President since June.

Such calls have seen growing debate of the ignoring of Vice President Jane Ansah, views government deny on the basis Mutharika has all the prerogative.
