BREAKING: Chief Malemia sent to 21 years in prison
Chief Malemia of Zomba has been sentenced to 21 years in prison by a Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court after being found guilty of defiling a 16-year-old girl.
Senior Resident Magistrate Elijah Blackboard Dazilikwiza Pachalo also convicted him of providing money to the victim to terminate her pregnancy, resulting in an additional nine-year sentence.
Nevertheless, the court determined that he will serve a total of 21 years in prison.
The court also stated that he has the right to appeal the decision.
This ruling concludes the court case, with Chief Malemia expected to start serving his sentence unless an appeal alters the verdict.
