Police investigating the murder of Lilongwe businessman
Police in Lilongwe have launched investigations into an armed robbery that claimed the life of a 32-year-old businessman who was reportedly carrying K4.25 million to purchase 250 chickens.
The victim, identified as Emmanuel Mangani, was travelling from Mitundu to Dudu Poultry Farm late on the night of 30 July 2026 when he was ambushed near the Malangalanga ADMARC Forest at around 11:00 p.m.
According to Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu, two armed suspects allegedly confronted Mangani, shot him in the head and fled with the cash.
Meanwhile,Chigalu added that a security guard at Dudu Poultry Farm, Chikumbutso Mayola,aged 35, sustained a gunshot wound during the incident as security guards in the area responded to the scene.
