Wanders pile MK10 Million for SWAM AGM

Mighty Wanderers Football Club has strengthened its partnership with sports journalists in the country following a K10 million donation to the Sports Writers Association of Malawi (SWAM) ahead of its Annual General Meeting scheduled for 13 to 15 November in Salima.

The donation comes as SWAM intensifies preparations for the annual gathering, which is expected to bring together over 200 members.Wanderers President Thomson Mpinganjira contributed K5 million, with the club providing the remaining K5 million.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mighty Wanderers Acting Chief Executive Officer, Welloce Kachingwe, said the support underscores the club’s recognition of the media’s vital role in promoting football and telling the country’s football stories.

SWAM President Mphatso Malidadi described the donation as a timely boost towards hosting a successful AGM, adding that the association is still engaging more partners to raise funds for its K51 million budget for the event.
