Three women killed in two weeks in Dowa

In Dowa, a woman has been killed by unidentified assailants in the vicinity of Senior Chief Mponela, raising the total number of women murdered in the area to three within a span of less than two months.

Group village headman Mponela says that the woman had gone to Chiwamba village to check on her garden before being attacked by unknown individuals.

The chief stated that when her relatives and community members realized she had not returned, they initiated a search and discovered her deceased in the garden.

Macpatson Msadala, the publicist for Mponela police station, confirmed the incident but mentioned that a postmortem examination had yet to be carried out.

In the meantime, statistics reveal that at least nine women have fallen victim to unknown assailants in the areas governed by Traditional Authorities Mponela and Dzoole in Dowa since the previous year.
