Rastaman rapes underaged stepdaughter

Police in Mzuzu have arrested a 33-year-old Limbani Nyirenda for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with his 12-year-old stepdaughter.

Nyirenda is said to have committed the crime in the week.

“The victim’s mother is married to Nyirenda, and they live together with the victim. On Thursday, the victim’s mother went to converse with a neighbor, leaving the two alone in the house,” stated Edson Chipeni, Assistant Public Relations Officer at Mzuzu Police Station.

He further explained, “Nyirenda instructed the victim to fetch a Bluetooth speaker from a neighbor.

Upon her return with the speaker, he pulled her into his room and assaulted her.

“According to Chipeni, the mother grew suspicious and inquired about the incident. The girl disclosed to her mother what Nyirenda had done.”

When the mother confronted her husband regarding the incident, he confessed to having had sexual intercourse with the girl.

She subsequently reported the case at Zolozolo Police Unit, and the victim was provided with a referral letter to Mzuzu Central Hospital for medical examination and treatment.

Medical results confirmed that sexual intercourse had taken place,” Chipeni stated.

Nyirenda is anticipated to appear in court shortly to face charges of engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor.
