National ICT Survey on the cards

The National Statistical Office (NSO) is set to assess how Malawians access and use digital technologies through the Fourth National Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Survey, scheduled for August to October 2026.

The survey will be conducted in all districts of Malawi, including Dzaleka Refugee Camp, in partnership with the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA).

Meanwhile,NSO says the exercise will collect data on mobile phone and computer ownership, internet access and use, digital financial services, e-commerce, cybersecurity awareness and child online protection.

According to the office, the findings will provide updated statistics to measure Malawi’s progress in digital transformation and guide policy formulation and national development planning, including the implementation of Malawi 2063.
