Massive train derailment in Machinga
Minister of Transportation, Jacob Hara, has confirmed a major derailment of a cargo train carrying fuel at Kamwendo Railway Station in Machinga District.
The incident, attributed to a wrong directive from a control center in Mozambique, resulted in nine fuel tanks overturning, with four leaking diesel. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.

Winning before elections: Two declared winners in Malawi polls
Two people Lawrence Chaziya and Gideon Masache from Chilobwe, Lilongwe, have been declared winners of their respective parliamentary and local government seats, having been the only candidates to submit nominations under the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

Over seven million Malawians are set to cast their votes in the upcoming elections.
